Original curriculum
The national anthem: 'Repeat, O world, my song… and remember in my joy each of my martyrs', accompanied by an explanation of the Republic's flag and emblems.
After Houthi amendment
The national anthem is replaced by a lineage-based slogan celebrating the 'Quranic March' and 'wilayat al-bayt', while the Republic's flag is downplayed.

Substituting the unifying national symbol with a factional symbol fractures the child's reference to the republican state.
